freezing for art's sake
yesterday mr. tunick did one of his more largish photo sessions, tryin' to create artwork out of approximately 1840 naked human beings. me one of them. at last i know how a pointillist's blot of paint feels, or a pebble in a huge mosaic.
yeah, on that pic you see people in the sun. but that was not part of the artwork, that was a break. all the shots were taken in the freakin' shadow, with a chilly wind blowing, and we were naked for four hours or so. the press people were sitting in the sun, all the time! clothed, of course. AND they took pics of everyone when we came into the sunlight, voyeurs that they are.
incidentally, this was the first time in my life that i entered a soccer stadium. it's the one where they will play the finals of the European Championship 2008. we were strictly forbidden to step on the lawn - they closed the field off with ribbons and covered the ground around it with plastic mats (the blue stuff you see in the pic). evidently 3680 naked feet are bad for the lawn (while soccer players' shoes are acceptable).
