YUM! My mouth is watering. By the way I bought one kind of those cookies today. The vanillia ones in the shape of a a a ehm half circle? They werent nearly as good as yours..
"ehm, half circle"... some people might say "crescent". it's supposed to be a moon... popular mythology says that the austrians saw the symbol of the half moon on the turkish flags, when the turks tried to conquer our country, and started baking all kinds of stuff in that shape. our word for that shape is "kipferl". the cookies are called "vanillekipferl".
and of course, everyone agrees that my vanillekipferl are the best! even my granny.
