who'd want to be a millionaire?

you know, that quiz show. last summer, in the french edition of it (Qui veut gagner des millions?), showmaster Jean-Pierre Foucault asked a candidate:

"What revolves around Earth?

A: the moon
B: the sun
C: Mars
D: Venus"

the candidate (beyond middle age, not looking like he grew up in a pigshed) was clueless, which would be bad enough, but the real desaster followed when he asked the audience. check the video. where is this world, uh, revolving to?

i've seen 72% of the public vote for a wrong answer. but not on such a kindergarten question.

maybe they were malicious and thought "this guy is so damn stupid, we won't help him to get rich".

Hahahahaha! Yes, I can undersand that thought ;)
Its funny to watch the girl that most likey is his daughter. When they ask her about the question she says "Je pense que..." (I THINK that it is.... Well, guess she is just trying to be nice to daddy, but the headshake she does says enough :P

thats an interesting aspect of the show... i once saw a girl almost having a heart attack when her boyfriend gave a particularly stupid answer to a 500€-question.
then the german quizmaster (who can be mean at times) visibly thought "at least i'll get rid of this moron" and accepted the nonsense answer - the guy went away from the chair without winning a cent.
the girlfriend looked so bloody angry. probably she dumped him then and there :-)
