waitin' for the hurricane

the weather guys have been promising us a hurricane for this night. his name, they say, is Kyrill, and he is supposed to be approaching central europe at 130 km/h or more.

he should have been there hours ago. people went home early from work, university classes have been canceled, something very close to mass hysteria very nearly broke out, so that everyone could get home before the storm. well, Kyrill hasn't come yet. so far he is just a lame excuse, more original than most. "why didn't you show up? we were having a date!" "oh, awfully sorry, i had to stay home because of the hurricane."

still, he isn't totally harmless. he has killed six people in germany. will he get here, or won't he? he's slowly killing me by means of suspense.
